Breast Cancer & Nutrients

Inherited genetic mutations account for 5-10% of all breast cancer globally. 87% of women diagnosed do not have any 1st-degree relatives.

Breast cancer is a result of an accumulation of assaults on the body. Cancer needs an environment filled with inflammation, radiation, and free radicals.

Cell initiation is not the problem, cell promotion is. Our control should be aimed at stopping promotion.

Plants have the power to block carcinogenic intervention and medications are obtained from plants.

Phytonutrients and other antioxidants prevent DNA damage. They repair broken DNA, destroy harmful cells in your body, and inhibit new blood supply to cancer cells (a process called anti-androgenesis) besides the fact that they stimulate your immune system.

Berries

Berries have the ability to create apoptosis (programmed cell death) inside a cancerous cell. General health benefits of Berries:

  • Joyous fruitful life
  • Painless joints
  • Less diabetes
  • Better blood pressure
  • More energy
  • Better sex life.
  • Sharper mind
  • Less dementia
  • Smoother skin
  • Healthier planet

Sulforaphane

This phytochemical is best gotten from raw or lightly steamed vegetables in the cabbage group (cruciferous veggies). When you break down their cell walls, they release an enzyme, myrosinase (destroyed by heat) which transforms another enzyme called isothiocyanate into Sulforaphane.

Sulforaphane causes death of cancer cells (apoptosis).

Broccoli sprouts contain 100x the sulforaphane of broccoli.

Onions family too; they have anti-cancer properties.

Green Tea

3 cups of green tea daily can slash breast cancer odds in half. Adding lemon will make EGCG (epigallocatechin-gallate), a compound that increases antioxidants by 5-fold.

Soy

80% of all breast cancer cells have a little alpha receptor for estrogen. When estrogen hits that receptor, it signals that cancer cell to multiply and divide. There are two receptors in the body for estrogen; alpha and beta. The alpha receptor is attached to the cancer cell.

But with 1600% more affinity, the phytoestrogen in soy products binds to the beta receptor. These activated beta receptors shut alpha down, taking away the activity of the cancer receptor.

Organic soy, please (non-GMO). It has all of the essential amino acids.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms contain aromatase inhibitors which prevent the conversion of other hormones into estrogen and also preserve testosterone for men. *Estrogen can fuel the growth of breast cancer cells.

Alcohol

Because of resveratrol – found in the skin of red grapes (with seeds), only very moderate red wine may be considered; otherwise, it’s better to stay off alcohol.

Foods to Include Daily for Estrogen-Driven Cancer

  • A couple servings of cruciferous vegetables

  • 2-3 servings of Soy

  • Half of Button mushroom – Agaricus bisporus

  • Citrus foods

  • Fiber

  • Flaxseeds
