Tribal Nature – The Boy Child

THE BOY CHILD: He is born into the world to imitate someone, but the real question is, who is he looking up to?

Who is his teacher?

In the world we live in, our imagination is that The Boy Child is born strong; emotionally, physically, mentally and otherwise. Therefore, when he is born, the first air he breathes in is this façade, which automatically becomes an issue when trying to live up to that expectation because in reality, he is not wired that way.

The Boy Child is just as vulnerable as the Girl Child.

The Boy Child is not supposed to show emotions or express pain because he is supposed to be ‘man enough.’

But we forget that even Iron man is first Tony Stark.

So many research campaigns, forums and other actions have been devoted to The Girl Child, but nothing essentially has been done for The Boy Child who is gradually hurting. While people are quick to rescue a girl who is raped, they do not show the same energy and haste towards a boy who is sodomized, tortured, forced to take drugs or compelled to be a child soldier; The Boy Child has been left behind; This has subjected him to all kinds of inhumane societal mischief and unending life struggles.

How about empowering both genders by advocating for The Boy Child, the same way we advocate for The Girl Child? After all, we are all human.

We shouldn’t wait to get to the point when we ask in regret, if we haven’t already; “How did we get here with The Boy Child?”
